Ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, we had the opportunity to speak to Shkodra Elektronike, who will represent Albania at this year’s contest.
We spoke to Shkodra Elektronike at the London Eurovision Party. We asked them about the cultural significance behind their music, how they feel to represent their country in Basel and what we can expect from their performance at Eurovision.

Shkodra Elektronike were selected as the Albanian representatives for Basel on December 22 through Festivali i Këngës 63. “Zjerm” will be performed twelfth in Semi-Final One on May 13.

Albania made its debut at the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2004, the same year the televised Semi-Final was introduced to the competition. Albania succeeded in their first showing with Anjeza Shahini’s “The Image of You”, sailing through the semi-final in 4th place and eventually landing in a respectable 7th place at the grand final. Albania has competed in the Eurovision Song Contest every year since its debut. Since the success of their first appearance, they have reached the grand final a further ten times. They bettered their 2004 score in 2012 with Rona Nishliu’s song “Suus”, which finished the contest in fifth place with 146 points. This was their first time reaching the top 5 and their best placing to date
