Nuno Galopim and José Carlos Malato are set to commentate on the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 for Portuguese broadcaster RTP.
Sources speaking to ESC Portugal have confirmed that Nuno Galopim and José Carlos Malato will be the commentators for the Portuguese coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest. This will be the eighth time that Nuno Galopim has commentated on the contest for RTP, and the sixth time for José Carlos Malato.
Napa will be representing Portugal in Basel, Switzerland with “Deslocado”, they are due to compete in Semi-Final One on May 13. Napa are a five member band from Maderia who first began performing in 2013, they released their first album in 2019.

Portugal debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1964 represented by António Calvário. The country finished last scoring nul points. Before 2017, the best result of Portugal was 6th place which came in 1996 when Lúcia Moniz performed in Oslo. She scored 92 points, receiving 12 points from both Norway and Cyprus. In 2017, Portugal produced a spectacular win when Salvador Sobral took home the crystal microphone with his song “Amar pelos dois”. The 2018 contest was held in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon for the first time.
