The 15th edition of the Arab Music and Singing Competition has been announced by the Arab States Broadcasting Union.
The Arab Music and Singing Competition 2025 is set to be held from May 27 to 29 in the Tunisian capital of Tunis. The competition is open to all members of the Arab States Broadcasting Union as well as private radio stations across the region.
This year will be the 15th edition of the competition which is organised every two years by the Arab States Broadcasting Union. The contest looks for the best Arab song and musical piece, with the winner selected by a jury.
The rules for the competitions are as follows:
- The subject of the piece is ‘The National Song’, is a work that shows the values and spirits of (belonging/sacrifice/redemption) and embodies these noble values, praises the meanings of sacrifice, loyalty and redemption, and expresses love for the homeland
- The song is composed in Arabic maqamat with an orchestral arrangement. The song does not exceed 7 minutes in length
- The musical piece must be composed of Arabic modes and forms with orchestral arrangement and must not exceed 5 minutes in length
In the two categories, cash prizes will be awarded to first and second place. In the Song category, first place will receive $9,000 and second place $6,000. While in the musical piece category, first place will be awarded $6,000 and second place $3,000.
A jury formed of music and singing stars from across the Arab world will select the winner at the ASBU Headquarters between May 27 and 29. The winners will be announced and represented during the Opening Ceremony for the 25th Arab Radio and Television Festival, which will be held in Hammamet, Tunisia on June 23.
The Arab Music and Singing Competition is held biennially and has been organised by the Arab States Broadcasting Union since 2001, learn more about the contest below:
