Basel the host city for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest has announced a programme of events across the city.
The city of Basel has today revealed details of its programme of events to mark its time as the host city for the Eurovision Song Contest. Scattered across nine locations across the city, Basel, its residents and visitors will be immersed in events.
It has also been announced that ticket holders for the Eurovision shows, Arena plus and EuroClub will be able to travel free of charge within the TNW, RVL and Distribus ticket zones. Public transport will be extended to operate in later hours, while additional trains will be laid on to accommodate visitors.
EuroCafé & EuroClub – May 10 to 17
EuroClub will open each night from 23:00 and will feature performances from Eurovision acts from across the years. Among the artists announced to date are; Jerry Heil (Ukraine 2024), Cesár Sampson (Austria 2014) and Emmelie de Forest (Denmark 2013 – Winner).
EuroCafé will have a more relaxed environment with the cafe opening from 16:00. The cafe will serve coffee, drinks and food to provide a chilled atmosphere in which to relax.
Eurovision Boulevard
The Eurovision Boulevard runs from SBB train station to the Badischer Bahnhof train station. The Boulevard is the central artery for visitors to the city centre, and will feature interactive experience, food trucks, restaurants and performances.
The Boulevard is set to be decorated by Eurovision flags and will be home to busking zones where acts can perform between 1 pm and 11 pm. Local performers have been invited to apply to perform at several locations along the boulevard.
Eurovision Square – May 10 to 17
Barfüsserplatz will be transformed into Eurovision Square for the week running up to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Square will be free of charge to attend.
50 artists will be performing at the square as part of an open-air festival, with each day featuring its own musical theme. Among the artists performing will be Anna Rossinelli who represented Switzerland at Eurovision 2011.

Eurovision Street – Steinenvorstadt
Steinenvorstadt which is just off Eurovision Boulevard will also be transformed for the contest. Busking areas and seating areas will be setup for visitors to grab a bite to eat and watch performances.
Eurovision Village
The Eurovision Village will be located in Hall 1 of the Basel Exhibition Center and will be open from midday each day. The Village will be able to accommodate up to 12,000 visitors and is formed of; a sponsor zone, food vendors and party area with a main stage.
Tanja Dankner, Odette Hella’Grand and Joël von Mutzenbecher will host the performances at the Eurovision Village. A number of past Swiss Eurovision acts are due to perform; Anna Rossinelli (2011), Sinplus (2012), Timebelle (2017), Luca Hänni (2019) and Remo Forrer (2023). In addition, international acts including Eurovision 2014 winner Conchita Wurst will perform.
Eurovision 2025
Switzerland earned the honor of hosting Eurovision 2025 after Nemo triumphed at the 2024 contest with their song “The Code.” The entry scored an impressive 591 points, with 365 from the jury and 226 from the televote, securing Switzerland’s first victory since 1988.
The 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Basel on May 13, 15, and 17, 2025.
