Following their victory in Melodifestivalen 2025, KAJ share their first reactions to securing their place in the Eurovision Song Contest.
KAJ are a Finnish music and comedy group. Despite finishing second in their heat behind hot favourite Måns Zelmerlöw, KAJ managed to gain traction on streaming and online views in the subsequent weeks, securing them the win. This marks the first Melodifestivalen debutant to win since Tusse in 2021 and coincidentally the second time in a row that a non-Swedish, but Nordic group have represented Sweden.
The grand final of Melodifestivalen 2025 took place in Stockholm’s Strawberry Arena, following 6 weeks of competition and was hosted by Edvin Törnblom and Kristina Petrushina. A total of 12 acts competed to represent Sweden, in Basel in May. The final results were as follows (jury + televote):

- Måns Zelmerlöw – “Revolution” (76 + 81 = 157)
- Greczula – “Believe Me” (47 + 56 = 103)
- Klara Hammarström – “On and On and On” (34 + 43 = 77)
- Dolly Style – “Yihaa” (48 + 27 = 75)
- John Lundvik – “Voice of the Silent” (49 + 25 = 74)
- Scarlet – “Sweet N’ Psycho” (31 + 33 = 64)
- Annika Wickihalder – “Life Again” (36 + 18 = 54)
- Erik Segerstedt – “Show Me What Love Is” (24 + 27 = 51)
- Meira Omar – “Hush Hush” (26 + 24 = 50)
- Maja Ivarsoon – “Kamikaze Life” (2 + 30 = 32)
- Saga Ludvigsson – “Hate You So Much” (17 + 10 = 27)
Sweden will be performing in the first half of the first semi-final on Tuesday, the 13th of May.

Sweden debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958 and has gone on to be one of the contest’s most successful countries. The country has won the contest six times, the most recent being in 2015. Sweden’s first victory came in 1974 when ABBA won the contest in Brighton with “Waterloo”. Since missing out on the final in 2010, Sweden has gone on to finish 3rd twice and has won the contest twice, only in 2013 did the country place outside of the top 10 in the final.
