Ahead of Eurosong this Friday, we had the chance to speak to Reylta, who is one of the the six artists competing to represent Ireland in Eurovision 2025.
Reylta talked to us about the writing process of “Fire”, how growing up in the west of Ireland influenced her artistry and her hopes of releasing future music in Irish and Irish Sign Language.

Eurosong 2025 will be held on February 7 as part of the Late Late Show. The competing entries are:

- NIYL – “Growth”
Bambie Thug represented Ireland at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö with the song “Doomsday Blue”. They scored a total of 278 points and finished in 6th place. This is Ireland’s best result since 2000, where Eamonn Toal finished 6th with the song “Millennium of Love”.

Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest
Ireland debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1965 and is the joint most successful country to have participated in the contest, winning a total of seven times. During the 1990’s Ireland was a powerhouse in the contest becoming the first country to win three years in a row from 1992 to 1994. In the 2000s Ireland has struggled in the contest having qualified from the semi-final into the final just seven out of a possible seventeen times. In 2024, Bambie Thug gave Ireland their best result since 2000, finishing in 6th place.
