The filming of the postcards for the 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest has commenced in Switzerland.
Filming for the postcards for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 has started in Switzerland. Adonxs from Czechia traveled to the host country yesterday to film with a team from SSR SRG. The theme for this years postcards has not yet been revealed by the host broadcaster.
With filming underway in Switzerland this year marks the first time since 2019 that the postcards that will feature in the contest will have been filmed in the host country. In the past 5 years, artists have been superimposed on locations in the host country, seen visiting locations they are from or shown alongside past entries from their country.
The postcard has been used at the Eurovision Song Contest since 1970, the postcard provides time for the stage to be set up for each performance. Over the years the postcard has evolved from being used to advertise the host country to being able to introduce more about the participating artists.
Eurovision 2025
Switzerland earned the honor of hosting Eurovision 2025 after Nemo triumphed at the 2024 contest with their song โThe Codeโ. The song scored an impressive 591 points, 365 from the jury and 226 from the televote, securing Switzerlandโs first victory since 1988.
The 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Basel on May 13, 15, and 17, 2025.
