Norwegian media are reporting that Bobbysocks will compete in Melodi Grand Prix 2025.
Se og Hør are reporting that Bobbysocks are set to reunite and compete in Melodi Grand Prix 2025. Bobbysocks won the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 with “La’ det swinge”, bringing Norway their first ever Eurovision victory. The duo split up in 1988 but have reunited on several occasions, including for the Eurovision anniversary concerts Congratulations in 2005 and Eurovision Song Contest’s Greatest Hits in 2015.
The Melodi Grand Prix 2025 artists will be revealed tomorrow at 12:00 CET during a press conference at Marienlyst in Oslo, the studio has been the home of the MGP artist reveal for a number of years. The press conference will be hosted by Marte Stokstad, Tete Lidbom and Markus Neby, who will also host Melodi Grand Prix 2025 itself.
Changes have been made to the format of Melodi Grand Prix for 2025. The competition is returning to a standalone final for the first time since 2019. In addition, Melodi Grand Prix will be held at the Oslo Spektrum, returning to the classic venue for the first time since 2018.
Norway was represented by Gåte at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with “Ulveham”. They finished last in the Grand Final in Sweden, scoring 16 points. Their highest points received were 6 points from the Albanian jury.

Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest
Norway debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 and have won the contest three times – in 1985, 1995 and 2009. The country has the dubious record of finishing last the most times, twelve in total, and have received nul points four times. Norway last won the contest in 2009 when Alexander Rybak broke all records with his song “Fairytale”. He scored 387 points in the final, receiving 16 sets of 12 points and scoring points from every country.
