Ukraine’s selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 has commenced with the first episode of Shchodennyky Dytyachoho Yevrobachennya.
Shchodennyky Dytyachoho Yevrobachennya (Diaries of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest) has commenced today with the first of six episodes. In the first episode Svitlana Tarabova, Yevhen Triplov and Yevhen Kot take viewers through how they reviewed over 300 applications to compete in the selection and selected 15 to go through to Star School.
Timur Miroshnychenko and Anna Tulyeva are presenting the weekly shows on the Ukrainian selection for Madrid. Viewers of the show will be able to follow the fifteen singers in Star School as they grow, and develop and are eventually whittled down to the final six who will compete in the Ukrainian Junior Eurovision selection final.
The fifteen singers in Star School are:
- Mariya Blyznyuk – 9 years old
- Anastasiya Byelibova – 13 years old
- Bohdan Bilukha – 11 years old
- Vladyslav Vasytsʹkyy – 11 years old
- Daryna Vitsan – 14 years old
- Anhelina Hlohus – 12 years old
- Anna Doyna – 14 years old
- Veronika Kohan – 11 years old
- Ilya Konovchenko (ILKO) – 12 years old
- Artem Kotenko – 12 years old
- Vladyslava Kitselyuk (VLADA K) – 12 years old
- Sofiya Nersesyan – 8 years old
- Vsevolod Skryma – 12 years old
- Zlata Solonenko (Zlata Solo) – 9 years old
- Zlata Ivaniv – 10 years old
The final of the Ukrainian selection for Junior Eurovision 2024 will take place in September in an online format. A combination of a three-member jury and public voting will decide the Ukrainian representative for Madrid.

Ukraine debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 and has competed in the contest ever since. To date, Ukraine has only won the competition once. In 2012, Anastasiya Petryk won in Amsterdam with the song “Nebo”. She scored 138 points including eight sets of 12 points. Ukraine has hosted the contest twice, the first time being in 2009 and the second being in 2013 following their victory in Amsterdam.
