SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, has announced auditions for Melodifestivalen 2025 house dancers.
SVT will hold auditions to find house dancers for Melodifestivalen 2025. House dancers are a troupe of professional dancers that perform as backing dancers during the live performances and interval acts of Melodifestivalen. The auditions will be held on September 1 in Stockholm. More information will be released shortly about the audition process and how to apply.
Melodifestivalen will be used to select the Swedish entry for Eurovision 2025 in Switzerland. More information about the national selection will be revealed in due course. Melodifestivalen has been held annually since 1959, except for 1964 and 1976, when Sweden did not compete in Eurovision.
Marcus & Martinus represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö with the song “Unforgettable”. They placed 9th in the Grand Final receiving a total of 174 points, including 12 points from the German jury.

Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest
Sweden debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958 and has gone on to be one of the contest’s most successful countries. The country has won the contest 7 times – tying with Ireland, the most recent being in 2023. Abba´s win in Brighton 1974 with the song “Waterloo” marked Sweden’s first victory. Since missing out on the final in 2010 the country has gone on to finish 3rd twice and has won the contest three times. Only in 2013 and 2021 did the country place outside of the top 10 in the final.
