RTVE has commenced its search for the Spanish representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024.
Today applications have opened for singers wishing to represent Spain at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Madrid. The first round of the selection opened today at 12:00 CEST and will close on July 3 at 23:59 CEST, singers must be aged between 9 and 14 years old, and applications can be submitted here.
Once the application window closes on July 3, in-person casting will be held in mid-July. Following this casting round the jury will have seven dates to evaluate the participants and present their results to RTVE management.
The song that will represent Spain on home soil will be chosen internally. The song will be selected by RTVE to meet the style of the artist that has been chosen to represent Spain. The music video for the song will be filmed in September.
Junior Eurovision 2024
The 2024 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Madrid, Spain on November 14, following their second-place finish at the 2023 contest. The winner, France, declined the hosting responsibility after hosting the 2023 edition in Nice.

Spain first took part in the contest in 2003 and participated every year between then and 2006. In 2004, María Isabel brought Spain their only victory so far with “Antes muerta que sencilla”. After an absence of 13 years, Spain returned to the contest in 2019 with “Marte” by Melani García. Spain had finished in the top 5 up until the 2021 contest when Spain finished in 15th place.
