ByCecilia and Nils Ove Kuorak have been crowned the winners of Sámi Grand Prix 2024 this evening in Kautokeino.
ByCecilia has won the song contest while Nils Ove Kuorak is the joik contest winner. The winner was chosen by public voting held in Sweden and Norway, and jury voting. The jury awarded 1/3 of the points, while the public vote determined the remaining 2/3 of the points.

For the first time, the competition was broadcast on television in Finland, Norway and Sweden. The show was hosted by Ole Máhtte Gaup and Natalie Carrion.
What is Sámi Grand Prix?
Sámi Grand Prix has been held annually since 1990 as part of the Sámi Easter Festival in Kautokeino in Norway.
The winner of the Sámi Grand Prix 2024 will be awarded 20,000 NOK, while second place will receive 10,000 NOK. The winners in each category will be offered a scholarship worth 50,000 NOK and the opportunity to hold a concert at the Sami Easter Festival.
The region of Sápmi covers northern Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia, and has a population of between 80-100,000 Sámi. To date the most successful nation in the contest is Norway.
