France Télévisions, the French national broadcaster, has revealed their broadcast plans and commentators for Eurovision 2024.
Nicky Doll will provide commentary during the semi-finals for French viewers on Culturebox. Nicky is a drag queen who first rose to fame after participating in the 12th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She currently is the head judge and host of Drag Race France.
The final of Eurovision 2024 will be broadcast on France 2. Stéphane Bern and Laurence Boccolini will commentate on the contest for French viewers. The duo started working together on the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2021. Stéphane has been commentating at the contest for France since 2015, while Laurence joined the line-up in 2021.
Slimane will represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song “Mon amour”. The song was written by Meir Salah, Yaacov and Slimane himself.
Slimane will compete in the Grand Final on May 11.

France in the Eurovision Song Contest
France was one of seven countries to participate in the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. Since then they have participated in every contest aside from 1974 and 1982. Their withdrawal in 1974 was caused by the death of President Georges Pompidou, while 1982’s withdrawal was a result of TF1 declining to enter the contest. France has won the contest on five occasions, the most recent being in 1977 when Marie Myriam performed “L’oiseau et l’enfant”. France’s best result of the 21st century came in 2021 when Barbara Pravi finished second in Rotterdam.
