Friesland has launched the song submissions window for Liet 2024, the Frisian language song contest.
The search is one for the next winner of Liet, the Frisian language song contest. Song submissions have opened for new Frisian language songs and will remain open until May 1.ย The final of Liet 2024 will take place on September 19.
In a format change this year a preliminary round will also be held. All of the song submissions will be assessed by a jury who will select 12 to go through to a preliminary round. The 12 acts will be voted on by the public, with the winner going directly to the final. A further seven finalists will be selected by the jury.
The winner of Liet 2024 will represent Friesland at the Regio Songfestival 2024 in Limburg. Melissa Pander won Liet 2023 and placed 5th in the Regio Songfestival 2023.
