The acts hoping to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will be revealed on January 19.
NDR has announced that the artists competing in Eurovision Song Contest – Das Deutsche Finale 2024 will be announced later this month on January 19. A total of 693 applications were received for the selection, with the acts competing in the selection selected around Christmas time.
Eurovision Song Contest – Das Deutsche Finale 2024 will be broadcast live from Berlin on February 16 on Das Erste, eurovision.de, and ARD Mediathek. It is unclear how many acts will be competing, but we know that one will be the winner of Ich Will Zum ESC!
Germany finished last in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, with Lord of the Lost and the song “Blood and Glitter”. The group scored 18 points across the juries and televote, marking a second consecutive last-place performance for Germany at the contest.

Germany was one of seven countries to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. The country has taken part in every contest since then, apart from in 1996 when they failed to make it through the qualifying round. To date Germany has won the contest twice. The first time was in 1982 when Nicole sang “Ein Bisschen Frieden” in Harrogate, which later became a global hit. Germany didn’t win again until 2010 when Lena sang “Satellite” in Oslo. She received 9 sets of 12 points, scoring 246 points overall.
