AVROTROS, the Dutch national broadcaster, has confirmed that the Dutch entrant for Eurovision 2024 will be revealed on December 11.

In a video posted on the official Dutch Eurovision social media pages the official AVROTROS Youtube channel, AVROTROS revealed that the artist who will represent the Netherlands in Malmö will be presented on December 11. In the same video, the selection committee explained how they chose the Dutch entrant for Eurovision 2024.

After each member listened to over 600 submissions, the selection committee met in the Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum to listen to the submissions together. After creating an original shortlist of nine songs, the committee reduced the list to five. These five artists were then invited to in-person auditions in Nobel in Leiden. Each artist had twenty minutes with the committee, in which they spoke about themselves and their song. They also each performed their song twice on stage. After the committee had met and listened to all five artists, a decision on who should represent the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 was taken.

Dutch radio station Radio 538 recently reported that the selection committee was choosing between Karsu, Numidia an Ilse DeLange. Ilse DeLange’s management, however, stated that she was not participating in Eurovision.

Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper represented the Netherlands in Eurovision 2023 with “Burning Daylight”. They finished 13th in Semi-Final One scoring just 7 points from the televote. This was the Netherlands’ lowest score since 1994 and their first non-qualification since 2015,
