Yerdana Yerzhuanuly and Dinara Sadu will commentate for Kazakhstan at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Yesterday it was announced that Kazakh broadcaster Khabar will broadcast the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, despite previous reports that they were not. Yerdana Yerzhuanuly has revealed that he will commentate on the contest alongside Dinara Sadu. Yerdana is a TV Host who can be seen on “Oyan!”, a morning show broadcast on Khabar.
Kazakhstan will not be competing in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023. Kazakhstan’s withdrawal from Junior Eurovision brings a five-year spell of competing at the contest to an end. However, it seems that the door is open for a return, with the Director of Khabar previously stating that he is hopeful that Khabar will return to Junior Eurovision next year.
Junior Eurovision 2023
Junior Eurovision 2023 will be held at the Palais Nikaïa in Nice and the final will air on Sunday 26 November at 16:00 CET.
Estonia is debuting in the contest, while Germany is returning to the JESC fold after one year away. As a result, the “Big Five” (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom) will all be competing together in Junior Eurovision for the very first time.
The sixteen countries that have been confirmed to take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023 are: Albania, Armenia, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

Kazakhstan first participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2018, with Daneliya Tuleshova and her song “Ozine sen”. She went on to finish in 6th place. The following year, the country was represented by Yerzhan Maksim with the song “Armanyńnan qalma”, which scored a total of 227 points. Kazakhstan won the jury vote scoring 148 points, but was 5th with the online vote scoring 79 points, and finished in 2nd place overall.
