The first snippets of information about the Italian entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023 have been revealed.
Answering questions from fans on social media, Melissa who is part of the duo that will represent Italy in Nice, has revealed the first snippets of information about their song. Their song is expected to be released in roughly the next ten days, with an exact date to be confirmed.
In terms of the languages in the song, she confirmed that the song will be in both Italian and English, continuing the same approach as every Italian entry for the contest. Melissa went on to explain that the song will feature both fast and slow parts. It has already been revealed that the song was composed by Franco Fasano, who already has experience with composing music for children.
Melissa Agliottone and Ranya Moufidi will represent Italy at Junior Eurovision 2023. They were internally selected to represent the country in Nice in a collaboration between Rai and Universal Music Italy. Both girls took part in the first series of The Voice Kids Italy earlier this year. Ranya reached the final while Melissa won the contest.

Italy debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2014. Their first and only win to date was on their debut when Vincenzo Cantiello came in 1st place with 159 points with his song “Tu Primo Grande Amore”. Their worst result was in 2015 when twins Chiara & Martina came 16th with 34 points with their song “Viva”. Since their debut, Italy has participated in every contest except for 2020.
