Germany will internally select its entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

For the first time, Germany will internally select the artist that will represent them at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. KiKA has opted to drop its national selection process in favour of selecting its singer for the competition in Nice itself.

Last year KiKa confirmed to Eurovoix that theyย would not be participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022. At the time, KiKa stated it would โ€œtake a creative break this yearโ€ and that one of the reasons for withdrawal was the travel warnings issued for the 2022 host country Armenia by the German Foreign Office.

Germany has participated in two previous editions of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Their 2020 entry, โ€œStronger With Youโ€ was performed by Susan, who finished in last place with 66 points. โ€œImagine Usโ€ by Pauline, their 2021 entry, finished in 17th place with 61 points.
