The Cypriot entry for Eurovision 2023 will be released on March 2.
Andrew Lambrou, the Cypriot representative for Eurovision 2023, revealed to INFE Greece that his entry for Liverpool will be released on March 2. Andrew was in Athens with the Cypriot delegation to film the music video for his entry and to continue preparations for the contest. During his time in Athens, he met with Victor Vernicos, who is representing Greece in this year’s contest. Both artists are signed to Panik Records.
Jimmy Jansson and Thomas Stengaard are part of the writing and production team that created Andrew Lambrou’s song for the contest in Liverpool, which was recorded in Stockholm.
Jimmy Jansson is a singer and songwriter has written songs that have competed in Melodifestivalen, EMA, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, Beovizija, Melodi Grand Prix and Benidorm Fest. In 2020 his song “Yes” was chosen to represent Denmark at Eurovision 2020 before the contest was cancelled.
Thomas Stengaard co-wrote the winner of Eurovision 2013 “Only Teardrops” which was performed by Emmelie de Forest. He has also been part of the teams behind songs such as “El Diablo” (Cyprus 2021), “You Let Me Walk Alone” (Germany 2018) and “Adrenalina” (San Marino 2021).
Andrew Lambrou was born to Greek-Cypriot parents in Sydney, Australia. Last year, he took part in Eurovision 2022: Australia Decides. He finished seventh with “Electrify”.

Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest
Cyprus debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981. Their best result was in 2018, with Eleni Foureira and the performance of the song “Fuego” won second place with 436 points. Before then, their best results in the contest came in the form of three fifth-place finishes. In 2004, Lisa Andreas performed “Stronger Every Minute” in Istanbul, Turkey. She finished 5th in the final scoring 170 points, which included 12 points from Greece. They also placed fifth in 1997 with Hara & Andreas Constantinou and their song “Mana mou”, and in 1982 with Anna Vissi’s “Mono i agapi.” Cyprus withdrew from the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 due to financial difficulties but returned again in 2015.
