This is the first time that The Voice Georgia has been used to determine the nation’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. This will be the fifth series of the competition and the second series broadcast by GPB.
Georgia last held a national selection to determine its representative in 2020, when Georgian Idol was used to select their singer for the contest in Rotterdam. It is currently not known how the Georgian song for Eurovision 2023 will be determined.
Circus Mircus represented Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song “Lock Me In”. They finished 18th and last in the Second Semi-Final scoring a total of 22 points, with 9 points from the televote and 13 points from the jury.

Sopho finished 12th in the final scoring 97 points, the song received 12 points from the televoters in Lithuania. Their best result was a 9th place in both 2010 and 2011. Georgia has only ever missed one contest since their debut, this was in 2009 when they had selected Stephane & 3G with “We Don’t Wanna Put In”. The EBU asked for Georgia to rewrite the lyrics of the song or change the song completely.
