ARD, the German national broadcaster, has revealed that Unser Lied für Liverpool will be held on March 3.
Unser Lied für Liverpool will be held at 22:20 CET on March 3 in the MMC Studios in Cologne. The show will be presented by Barbara Schöneberger and will be broadcasted on live on Das Erste, ARD Mediathek and eurovision.de. A stream with interpretation into German Sign Language will also be available on HbbTV and eurovision.de. There will also be a warm-up show broadcast at 21:20 CET on Das Erste and ARD Mediathek, alongside backstage videos on the ARD TikTok account.
The exact number of acts that will participate in Unser Lied für Liverpool has yet to be decided, although ESC Kompakt previously reported that nine acts have been selected. One thing that is certain is that a TikTok wildcard will be selected to participate. The wildcard will be selected through public voting, which will run from January 27 to February 3. The TikTok wildcard vote result will be revealed live in the first edition of the new online show Alles Eurovision with Alina Stiegler and Stefan Spiegel on February 4 at 18:00 CET live on eurovision.de.
Malik Harris represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy with the song “Rockstars”. He received 6 points in total, reaching 25th place. The German entry was saved from nul points, receiving 2 points from the televote in Austria, Estonia and Switzerland.

Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest
Germany was one of seven countries to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. The country has taken part in every contest since then, apart from in 1996 when they failed to make it through the qualifying round. To date Germany has won the contest twice. The first time was in 1982 when Nicole sang “Ein Bisschen Frieden” in Harrogate, which later became a global hit. Germany didn’t win again until 2010 when Lena sang “Satellite” in Oslo. She received 9 sets of 12 points, scoring 246 points overall.
