The first songs competing in Pabandom iš naujo! 2023, the Lithuanian selection for Eurovision 2023 have been released.
Following the announcement of the thirty artists participating in Pabandom iš naujo! 2023, the first songs have started to be released. To date three songs have been released, click on the song titles to hear the competing entries:
The artists are able to release their entries at the time of their choosing ahead of the Lithuanian selection commencing on January 21. Pabandom iš naujo! 2023 will consist of five shows; two heats, two semi-finals and a final. The complete calendar for the selection is as follows:
- Heat 1 – January 21
- Heat 2 – January 28
- Semi-Final 1 – February 4
- Semi-Final 2 – February 11
- Final – February 18

Monika Liu finished in fourteenth place in the Final of Eurovision 2022 with her song “Sentimentai” scoring a total of 128 points. This included 10 points from the televote of Latvia, Norway and Ukraine, while the Slovenian jury also awarded 10 points.

Lithuania debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, however on their debut they finished in last place with nul points. Lithuania didn’t return to the contest until 1999 when Aiste finished 20th with the song “Strazdas”. Lithuania’s best result came in 2006 when LT United performed “We Are The Winners”; they finished 6th in the final with a total of 162 points. Lithuania has only finished in the top 10 on two other occasions; in 2016 with “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night” by Donny Montell and in 2021 with “Discoteque” by The Roop.
