Nicolas Alves has performed a cover of the Eurovision 2019 winning song “Arcade”.
The Portuguese representative Nicolas Alves has been recorded performing the winning song from the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. “Arcade” won the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 by Duncan Laurence for the Netherlands.
Nicolas Alves is 13 years old and originally from the United Kingdom. He moved to Torres Vedras, a town near Lisbon, when he was 10. The singer was a finalist in The Voice Kids Portugal, where he performed “Beggin’”. Nicolas was part of Carolina Deslandes’ team and had received 3 yes’ from the judges in the auditions round. Alongside singing, he loves to play the guitar and building with LEGO.
Junior Eurovision 2022
Following Malena’s victory in Paris, the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan will host Junior Eurovision 2022 on December 11. The same venue also hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2011, which was the first Eurovision event in history to be hosted in Armenia. The venue can host between 6,000 and 8,000 people for large concerts. The venue is only the second to have hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest twice, after Minsk Arena in Belarus.

Portugal debuted at the 2006 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Budapest, Romania. The country placed second-last that year and the year later, before withdrawing in 2008. They were not to return until 2017 where they were represented by Mariana Venancio, who placed 14th with her song “YouTuber”. In 2021, they finished in 11th, their best placing to date.
