RTVSLO will hold a press conference tomorrow to announce the details of EMA 2023, the Slovenian selection for Eurovision 2023.
The Slovenian broadcaster has announced a press conference from 11:00 CET tomorrow, to announce the details of EMA 2023. The press conference is being broadcast live from the Ljubljana Botanical Garden on MMC TV.
Slovenia has taken considerably longer this year to announce any details of its Eurovision selection. Last year Slovenia had already commenced the EMA Fres round of its selection, with weeks of online voting on songs from unknown artists.
LPS represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin with “Disko” and finished last in their Semi-Final. LPS scored a total of 15 points of which 8 points came from the Croatian televote.

Slovenia was one of three countries to join the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993. The country qualified through a specially organised selection round called “Kvalifikacija za Millstreet” which was hosted in Slovenia, seven countries competed for three spots in Eurovision 1993. The country has participated in 22 editions of the Eurovision Song Contest. Their best result came in 1995 when Darja Švajger finished 7th scoring a total of 84 points, she is closely followed by Nuša Derenda who finished 7th in the 2001 contest with 70 points.
