It’s December 1st and the first songs competing in the Eurovision 2023 selection season are being revealed today.
The key times for today are:
- 10:00 CET – 🇫🇮 Finland – UMK 2023 host reveal
- 12:00 CET – 🇺🇦 Ukraine – Vidbir 2023 songs revealed
- 12:00 CET – 🇳🇴 Norway – Melodi Grand Prix 2023 tickets go on sale
🇫🇮 Finland: UMK 2023 Host Reveal
This morning Yle will reveal the host of UMK 2023, the Finnish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
UMK 2023 will take place on February 25 in Logomo in Turku. Logomo will play host to UMK for the second year in a row and the third time overall.
The seven acts that will participate in UMK 2023 will be announced on January 11. The competing songs will be released on separate days from January 12 to 20. The entries were chosen from 363 applications.
🇺🇦 Ukraine: Vidbir 2023 Songs Revealed – 12:00 CET
Today in Kyiv, the ten songs that will compete to represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will be revealed. In addition, the running order for the Ukrainian final will be drawn. The final of Vidbir 2023 will be broadcasted live from Kyiv on December 17.
The finalists are:
- 2TONE — “Kvitka” (Flower)
- Angelina — “Stronger”
- DEMCHUK — “Alive”
- FIINKA — “Dovbush”
- Jerry Heil — “WHEN GOD SHUT THE DOOR”
- KRUTЬ — “Kolyskova” (Lullaby)
- Moisei — “I’m Not Alone”
- OY Sound System — “Oy, tuzhu” (Oh, longing)
- Tember Blanche — “Ya vdoma” (I’m home)
- TVORCHI — “Heart Of Steel”

🇳🇴 Norway: Melodi Grand Prix 2023 Tickets Go on Sale – 12:00 CET
Tickets for the four live shows for Melodi Grand Prix 2023 go on sale at 12:00 CET. Tickets are available for the three Semi-Finals in Oslo as well as the Grand Final in Trondheim on February 4.
The dates for Melodi Grand Prix 2023 are:
- Semi-Final One – January 14
- Semi-Final Two – January 21
- Semi-Final Three – January 28
- Final – February 4
A total of twenty-one artists are set to compete in Melodi Grand Prix 2023 three Semi-Finals and a Grand Final, with Arianrhod Engebø and Staysman hosting the shows. NRK has changed a number of aspects to the nation’s selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
