The final stage of the jury assessment to determine the Swiss entry for Eurovision 2023 is underway.
The jury that will help to determine the Swiss entry for Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool, is at the final stages of its decision. Ovi Jacobsen who represented Romania at Eurovision 2010 and 2014, posted on social media this past weekend that the Swiss selection is at its “last round”.
The selection process to determine the Swiss entry for Liverpool is taking over several stages. In all stages, the entries will be evaluated by two juries. The first jury will consist of 100 Swiss television viewers. The second jury will consist of 20 international music professionals, who have already been members of their countries’ Eurovision juries. Each jury will account for 50% of the overall result.
There are no restrictions on the language of the song or the nationality of the performer. However, in case of a tie, preference will be given to performers who are Swiss citizens or residents. The winning song and artist will be revealed in early 2023.

Switzerland hosted the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 a contest that they won. Lys Assia won the first contest with the song “Refrain”, it wasn’t until 1988 that Switzerland would win the contest again. At the contest in Dublin, it was Celine Dion with “Ne partez pas sans moi” who beat the United Kingdom to victory by just 1 point. In 2021 Switzerland finished 3rd with Gjon’s Tears. This was Switzerland’s first top three result since 1993.
