Ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022, we had the chance to talk to Chanel Dilecta from Italy.
We spoke to Chanel about her reaction to finding out that she would be representing Italy this year, her competing song “Bla Bla Bla”, and her creativity.

Chanel Dilecta is representing Italy at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with “Bla Bla Bla”. The song was composed by Marco Iardella and was written by Carmine Spera, Fabrizio Palaferri, Angela Senatore. The song is about young people responding to challenges like peace and climate change and that promises must be kept and words have meaning otherwise it is all “bla bla bla”.
Junior Eurovision 2022
Following Malena’s victory in Paris, the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan will host Junior Eurovision 2022 on December 11. The same venue also hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2011, which was the first Eurovision event in history to be hosted in Armenia. The venue can host between 6,000 and 8,000 people for large concerts. The venue is only the second to have hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest twice, after Minsk Arena in Belarus.

Italy debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2014. Their first and only win to date was on their debut, when Vincenzo Cantiello came in 1st place with 159 points with his song “Tu Primo Grande Amore”. Their worst result was in 2015 when twins Chiara & Martina came 16th with 34 points with their song “Viva”. Since their debut, Italy have participated in every contest except for 2020.
