HRT has confirmed to Jutarnji List that a total of 196 songs have been submitted to compete in Dora, the Croatian selection for Eurovision 2023.
Jutarnji List reports that a total of 196 songs were submitted to HRT as part of the open submissions process for Dora 2023. According to the Croatian outlet, this is the largest number of songs submitted to Dora in the history of the competition.
Among the names reported to have submitted songs to the Croatian selection are past Eurovision participants:
- Damir Kedžo – Eurovision 2020
- Igor Cukrov – Eurovision 2009
- Daniel Popović – Eurovision 1983
It has already been announced that Dora will feature Semi-Finals for the 2023 edition. Up to 28 songs are set to be selected to compete in the Croatian selection with HRT promoting the contest for five weeks in the run-up to the live contest. The final of Dora 2023 will take place in Opatija in February 2023.
Mia Dimšić represented Croatia at Eurovision 2022 with the song “Guilty Pleasure”. She narrowly missed out on qualification, finishing in 11th in the first semi-final.

Croatia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993. They were one of three countries to debut in the contest that year. Croatia’s best result came in 1999 when Doris Dragović finished 4th in Jerusalem. She performed the song “Marija Magdalena” which scored a total of 118 points, including 12 points from Slovenia and Spain. Croatia returned to the contest in 2016 having withdrawn after the 2013 contest due to a string of poor results and financial difficulties.
