“Jer-Ana”, the song that will represent Kazakhstan at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 has been released.
David Charlin’s entry for the 20th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest has been released this morning. The song is titled “Jer-Ana” (Mother Earth) and was co-composed by Khamit Shangaliyev ,who wrote the Kazakh Junior Eurovision entries in 2019 and 2020.
David was selected as the Kazakh representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in August. The young performer was competing in Baqytty Bala 2022, from which Khabar decided that the winner would represent Kazakhstan in Yerevan, Armenia.
Junior Eurovision 2022
Following Malena’s victory in Paris, the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan will host Junior Eurovision 2022 on December 11. The same venue also hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2011, which was the first Eurovision event in history to be hosted in Armenia. The venue can host between 6,000 and 8,000 people for large concerts. The venue is only the second to have hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest twice, after Minsk Arena in Belarus.

Kazakhstan first participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2018, with Daneliya Tuleshova and her song “Ozine sen”. She went on to finish in 6th place. The following year, the country was represented by Yerzhan Maksim with the song “Armanyńnan qalma”, which scored a total of 227 points. Kazakhstan won the jury vote scoring 148 points, but was 5th with the online vote scoring 79 points, and finished in 2nd place overall.
