🇪🇸 Spain: Carlos Higes Has Recorded His Junior Eurovision Entry

RTVE has announced that Carlos Higes has recorded his entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

The Spanish entry for this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan, Armenia has been recorded. RTVE has released images from the recording of the song, the genre of which has yet to be revealed.

At the recording of the Spanish entry, Carlos was joined by the vocal coach Natalia Calderón who has worked with every Spanish participant since 2018. In addition, he was joined by three backing singers Roberta Fauteck, Jesús Montero and Mario Falero.

Carlos is 11 years old and comes from Valencia. He has participated in several televised competitions such as Idol Kids and La Voz Kids. For his Blind Audition on La Voz, he auditioned with “Colours of Your Dream”, the Armenian entry for Junior Eurovision 2019.

Levi Díaz represented Spain in 2021 with “Reír” scoring a total of 77 points and finishing in 15th place. The result is the worst to date for Spain in the contest and is the first time they have finished outside of the top 5.

Spain first took part in the contest in 2003 and participated every year between then and 2006. In 2004, María Isabel brought Spain their only victory so far with “Antes muerta que sencilla”. After an absence of 13 years, Spain returned to the contest in 2019 with “Marte” by Melani García. Spain had finished in the top 5 up until the 2021 contest when Spain finished in 15th place.
