A total of 106 songs were submitted to ERT as part of the Greek selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
ERT has revealed that a total of 106 songs were submitted for the Greek Eurovision selection. Fotis Sergoulopoulos revealed on ERT1’s midday show, “Proian se eidon”, that the committee of ERT is extremely satisfied with this year’s interest from the candidates. The number of submissions is double what was received in 2021.
Among the artists that have submitted songs according to OGAE Greece are:

- Leon of Athens
- Evangelia
- Klavdia
- Antigoni Buxton
- Melissa Mantzoukis
- Aretha
- Vasilis Kurtis
- Antonia Kaouri
- Jimmy Sion

An internal committee at ERT will now select the Greek representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. ERT has used internal selections to determine their representative at the contest since 2018.
Amanda Georgiadi Tenfjord finished 8th for Greece in the Grand Final of Eurovision 2022 scoring a total of 225 points. Greece received 12 points from the Albanian televote and juries in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland.

Greece debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 when they were represented by Marinella and the song “Krasi, thalassa kai t’agori mou” which finished in 11th place with 7 points. Three years later Greece earned their first top 5 finish with Paschalis, Marianna, Robert, and Bessy who finished in 5th place with “Mathima solfege”. In 2001 Greece achieved their first top 3 result with Antique and the song “I Would Die For You”. The song became a European hit and charted across the continent. In 2005 Helena Paparizou returned to the Eurovision stage as a solo artist and brought Greece their first, and to date only, victory. Her song “My Number One” won with 230 points, beating runners-up Malta by 38 points.
