The full details of Una Voce per San Marino 2023 have been revealed this morning as San Marino commences its search for Eurovision 2023.
The format of Una Voce per San Marino 2023 will remain mostly the same as last year’s edition. The Academy and Casting stage will be held between October 28, 2022 and January 27, 2023. At the Casting stage a jury will select 60 or more artists to progress to the next round of the San Marinese selection
Following the casting stage, a total of five Semi-Finals will be held in February 2023. From the five Semi-Finals, around twenty artists will be chosen by the jury to go through to the Grand Final. There will be four Semi-Final shows, of which one will be for artists from San Marino, the fifth show in the Semi-Final stage will be the second chance round.
The Grand Final will be held on February 25, 2023 in the Teatro Nuovo in Dogana. The winner will be chosen by a five-person jury, two jurors chosen by San Marino RTV, one chosen by Segreteria di Stato and two chosen by the production company.
Unlike last year, there will be no Established Artist section and no artists will be directly invited to the final. Instead established artists or any other artists of note may be directly invited to the Semi-Finals and skip the Casting round.
Applications to take part in the selection are open from today until January 20, 2023. There are fees associated with taking part:
- Applications before September 29 will cost 100 Euro
- Applications between October 1 and January 20 will cost 150 Euro
- Applications from San Marinese artists will cost 50 Euro before December 3

Achille Lauro represented San Marino at Eurovision 2022 with the song “Stripper”. He failed to qualify for the Grand Final, finishing in 14th place with 50 points in the second semi-final.

San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest
San Marino debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 alongside Azerbaijan. On their debut they were represented by Miodio and the song “Complice”, and finished last in their semi-final with just 5 points. San Marino withdrew from the contest before returning again in 2011. Since then the country has participated annually and in 2014 qualified for their first final. The nation’s worst result came in 2017 when Valentina Monetta represented San Marino for the fourth time alongside Jimmie Wilson with “Spirit of the Night.” The pair finished last in their semi-final with just 1 point.
