Following a second year of failing to qualify for the Grand Final, Denmark saw its lowest Eurovision audience on Saturday night since 2007.
Denmark saw its lowest viewing audience for a Eurovision Grand Final on Saturday evening since the 2007 contest in Helsinki, Finland. A total of 529,000 viewers watched the contest live from Turin, down 4,000 viewers on 2021 and the lowest audience in 15 years.
The Eurovision Song Contest however dominated ratings in Denmark last week, with the Grand Final topping the weekly ratings and Semi-Final One in second place. The overall audience for Eurovision in Denmark was as follows:
- Semi-Final One – 480,000 viewers
- Semi-Final Two – Outside of top 20 broadcasts last week
- Grand Final – 529,000 viewers
Denmark were represented by Reddi at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with “The Show”. They finished 13th in Semi-Final One with a total of 55 points, its highest points came in the form of 6 points from the Icelandic jury and Latvian televote.

Denmark debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 alongside Austria and the United Kingdom. To date Denmark has won the contest on three occasions, the first being in 1963 when Grethe & Jorgen Ingmann performed “Dansevise”. Denmark won the contest again in 2000 represented by the Olsen Brothers, their most recent victory came in 2013 when Emmelie de Forest performed “Only Teardrops”. Denmark failed to qualify for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 and 2016.
