Nadir Rustamli has completed his first rehearsal on the Eurovision 2022 stage in Turin for Azerbaijan.
Nadir is wearing a light green and cream loose outfit and is joined on the stage by one male dancer. Azerbaijan brings a prop of bench stairs, which he and his dancer move around during the performance.

Who is Nadir Rustamli?
Nadir Rashid oghlu Rustamli was born on 8th July 1999 in Salyan, Azerbaijan. At a young age, Nadir practiced the piano at the Gulu Asgarov Music School. In 2017, he began singing in numerous contests, including Youthvision 2019, where he finished second. In 2022, he won The Voice of Azerbaijan under Eldar Gasimov’s mentorship.
On February 16th 2022, Nadir found out he was selected as the Azerbaijani Eurovision 2022 representative live on morning television. His song “Fade to Black” was written and composed by Thomas Stengaard and Andreas Stone Johansson.

Azerbaijan debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008, they were represented by Elnur & Samir with the song “Day After Day”, they finished 8th in the final. In 2011 Azerbaijan won the Eurovision Song Contest represented by Ell & Nikki and their song “Running Scared”. The song scored a total of 221 points, receiving only three sets of 12 points from Malta, Russia and Turkey. In 2018 Azerbaijan failed to qualify for the final for the first time, having previously had a 100% qualification record.
