🇭🇷 Croatia: The Adriatic Pre-Party Returns Virtually For a Second Year

Adriatic PreParty

The Adriatic Pre-Party returns on April 23 as a virtual event for the second year in a row.

The Hrvatski Eurovizijski Klub has announced that for a second year they are organising a virtual Eurovision pre-party. The event will take place on April 23 from 21:00 CET and will be available to watch on YouTube. The organisers said:

We are keeping the video format for 2022, rather than having an in-person party. However, we are upgrading a lot of elements. For example, the host’s segments are going to be filmed together in Zagreb rather than sat in our bedrooms.

In 2021 a total of fifteen competing artists performed as part of the event, with an additional four guest acts all performing virtually in pre-recorded performances.

The artists participating in the event will be announced in the coming weeks.

Croatia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993, they were one of three countries to debut in the contest that year. Croatia’s best result came in 1999 when Doris Dragović finished 4th in Jerusalem. She performed the song “Marija Magdalena” which scored a total of 118 points, this included 12 points from Slovenia and Spain. Croatia returned to the contest in 2016 having withdrawn after the 2013 contest due to a string of poor results and financial difficulties.
