Filming is continuing for the postcards for the 66th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, this time moving to the Lazio region.
More locations for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2022 have been reviled. The Civita di Bagnoregio in the Lazio region will feature in this year’s line of Postcards. The Lazio region is found in central Italy bordering the Tyrrhenian Sea and is home to the capital of Rome.
The Civita di Bagnoregio is known as the “Dying town” and is a small village with just ten inhabitants that is part of the municipality of Bagnoregio. The town will be shot via drone to showcase the landscape around Civita di Bagnoregio to viewers all over the world come May.
Locations known to feature in the postcards so far include:
- Terni & the Marmore falls in Umbria
- Perugia
- Naples
- Venice
The postcards are shown before the start of each performance at the Eurovision Song Contest with each nation having a different postcard. The postcard is used traditionally to promote the host country of that year’s contest or show the artist who is due to perform next.
The Eurovision Song Contest returns to Italy this year following Måneskin’s victory at the 2021 contest with their song “Zitti e Buoni”. The 2022 contest will be hosted on 10th, 12th, and 14th May at the PalaOlimpico in Turin. The contest was last held in Italy in 1991.
