Seven nations are in action today of which four are selecting their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

The key times for today are:

  • 20:00 CET – 🇩🇰 Denmark – Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2022 – Final

  • 20:00 CET – 🇸🇪 Sweden – Melodifestivalen – Semi-Final

  • 21:05 CET – 🇷🇸 Serbia – Pesma za Evroviziju ’22 – Final
  • 21:15 CET – 🇫🇷 France – Eurovision France: C’est vous qui décidez
  • 22:00 CET – 🇵🇹 Portugal – Festival da Canção 2022 – Semi-Final One

Eight artists compete this evening in Herning to be chosen as the Danish representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

Tina Müller and Martin Brygmann will host DMGP for the second year in a row. The show will take place in the Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning. This will be the sixth edition of the contest to be held in Herning and the third to be held in the Jyske Bank Boxen. For the first time in two years, a live audience will be able to attend the show and tickets are currently on sale.

The running order is as follows:

  1. Patrick Dorgan – Vinden suser ind
  2. Conf3ssions – Hallelujah
  3. Der Var Engang – En skønne dag
  4. Fuld Effekt – Rave med de hårde drenge
  5. Josie, Elinor, Jack Warren – Let me go
  6. Morten Fillipsen – Happy Go Lucky
  7.  REDDI – The Show
  8. Juncker – Kommet for at blive

The winner of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will be determined over two rounds of voting. In the first round eight songs will be reduced to three, the three qualifiers will be chosen by public voting. In the second round the act that receives the most votes will be declared the winner.

Last year’s Danish entrants Fyr og Flamme will open the show. The duo entered the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Øve os på hinanden”, which was the first song entered entirely in Danish since 1997.

20:00 CET – 🇷🇴 Romania – Selectia Nationala 2022 – Final

Having started its selection in December, tonight Romania selects its representative for the 66th Eurovision Song Contest.

Ten acts are competing this evening in Bucharest to be chosen as the Romanian representative for Turin. Eda Marcus and Aurelian Temișan are hosting the show this evening while Bogdan Stănescu and Ilinca Băcilă will host the Green room.

The artists competing to represent Romania in Turin are:

  • Alex Parker & Bastien – “Best of me”
  • Andrei Petruş – “Take me”
  • Claudia, Minodora, Diana – “România mea” (My Romania)
  • Dora Gaitanovici – “Ana”
  • Gabriel Basco – “One night”
  • Kyrie Mendél – “Hurricane”
  • MOISE – “Guilty”
  • Petra – “Ireligios” (Irreligious)
  • VANU – “Never give up”
  • WRS – “Llámame” (Call me)

The winner of the Romanian selection will be determined by 5/6 jury and 1/6 public televote. Eight artists will perform as interval acts during the Romanian selection, they include seven acts due to compete in Turin, they are:

  • Albania – Ronela Hajati
  • Bulgaria – Intelligent Music Project
  • Czech Republic – We Are Dome
  • Estonia – Stefan
  • Moldova – Zdob și Zdub
  • Montenegro – Vladana
  • North Macedonia – Andrea

Furthermore Jamala who represented Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will be performing her song “1944” having fled Ukraine due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Tonight the Semi-Final of Melodifestivalen 2022 takes place, as acts compete for the last places in the final.

The previously known second chance round of duels has been scrapped for the 2022 contest. The eight songs which have advanced to the Semi Final were put into two separate groups by a draw.  From each group, the two songs that receive the most votes will progress to the final.

Group one consists of:

  1. Tone Sekelius – My Way
  2. Alvaro Estrella – Suave
  3. Danne Stråhed – Hallabaloo
  4. Anna Bergendahl – Higher Power

Group two consists of:

  1. Theoz – Som du vill
  2. Lisa Miskovsky – Best to come
  3. Lillasyster – Till our days are over
  4. Cazzi Opeia – I can’t get enough

20:45 CET – 🇮🇸 Iceland – Söngvakeppnin – Semi-Final Two

Söngvakeppnin 2022 continues this evening with the second of two Semi-Finals.

Three presenters will be hosting this evenings show; Björg Magnúsdóttir, Jón Jónsson and Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir. All entries must be performed in Icelandic in the semi-finals.

Competing tonight are:

  • Hanna Mia and the Astrotourists – “Séns með þér” (See you soon) / “Gemini”
  • Katla – “Þaðan af” (From there) / “Then again”
  • Markéta Irglová – “Mögulegt” (Possible) / “Possible”
  • Reykjavikurdaetur – “Tökum af stað” (Let’s get started) / “Turn this around”
  • Suncity and Sanna – “Hækkum í botn” (Let’s go to the bottom) / “Keep it cool”

Two songs will qualify from the Semi-Final this evening, with one additional song being saved from the entries that do not qualify directly from either Semi-Final One or Semi-Final Two.

🇫🇷 France – Eurovision France: C’est vous qui décidez – 21:05 CET

Eurovision France: ‘C’est Vous Qui Décidez’ 2022 takes place this evening live from Paris as the nation selects its representative for Turin.

The competing songs are:

  • Joanna – “Navigateure” (Sailor)
  • Elliott – “La tempête” (The storm)
  • SOA – “Seule” (Alone)
  • Joan – “Madame” (Mrs)
  • Marius – “Les chansons d’amour” (Love songs)
  • Elia – “Téléphone” (Telephone)
  • Hélène in Paris – “Paris mon amour” (Paris my love)
  • Alvan & Ahez – “Fulenn” (Spark)
  • Cyprien Zeni – “Ma famille” (My family)
  • Julia – “Chut” (Shhh)
  • Saam – “Il est où?” (Where is it?)
  • Pauline Chagne – “Nuit Pauline” (Night of Pauline)

The selection will take place over three rounds of voting. In the first round, public voting will select five songs to move on to the final round. In the second round, the in-studio jury will choose one song that was not selected by the public vote to advance to the final round. In the third and final round, a combination of jury voting (50%) and public voting (50%) will select the French entry for Turin.

Eighteen songs have qualified from two semi-finals and will this evening compete to represent Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Italy in May.

The eighteen competing entries are:

  • Zorja – Zorja

  • Ana Stanić – Ljubav bez dodira (Love without touch)
  • Aca Lukas – Oskar
  • Konstrakta – In corpore sano (In healthy body)

  • Marija Mikić – Ljubav me inspiriše (Love inspires me)
  • Lift – Drama
  • Tijana Dapčević – Ljubi, ljubi doveka (Kiss, kiss forever)

  • Zoe Kida – Bejbi (Baby)
  • Zejna Murkić – Nema te (You’re gone)
  • Gift – Haos (Chaos)

The winner of Pesma za Evroviziju ’22 will be determined by 50% jury voting and 50% public voting.

The show comes live from the RTS studios in Belgrade. The final is hosted by Dragana Kosjerina and Jovan Radomir, with Kristina Radenković and Stefan Popović operating backstage and conducting interviews with the performers.

🇵🇹 Portugal – Festival da Canção 2022 – Semi-Final One – 22:00 CET

Portugal kicks off their Eurovision 2022 selection with the first semi-final of Festival da Canção 2022. Ten artists will take part, with five qualifying to the final on March 12th.

The running order is as follows:

  1. Os Quatro e Meia – “Amanhã” (Tomorrow)
  2. TheMisterDriver – “Calisun”
  3. Diana Castro – “Ginger Ale”
  4. FF – “Como É Bom Esperar Alguém” (How good it is to wait for someone)
  5. Norton – “Hope”
  6. Aurea – “Why?”
  7. Kumpania Algazarra – “A Minha Praia” (My beach)
  8. Maro – “saudade, saudade” (Longing, longing)
  9. Valas & Os Astronautas – “Odisseia” (Odyssey)
  10. Fado Bicha – “Povo pequenino” (Tiny people)

The semi-finals will be held in RTP studios in Lisbon. The first semi-final will be hosted by Sónia Araújo and Jorge Gabriel.
