The Spanish representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, Chanel, has filmed her entry’s official music video.

The video, which is being produced by Catalan artist Pawla Casanovas, shows a “pop diva” side to Chanel, who acts as an empowered woman that is the owner and protagonist of her life.

“It has been amazing, I’m very tired, but everything went perfectly. We’ve given our best for making an incredible job.”

The recording was the first time that Chanel has recorded a music video, she commented:

It’s crazy. Since I was little I have always loved music videos and I imagined being behind that smoke, that wind… And now she is having to live it. It’s crazy and I think my inner child is jumping for joy

The video clip for “Slo Mo” will be released in the coming weeks by RTVE. Next week, Chanel will be traveling to Lisbon for her guest appearance at Festival da Cançao’s semifinal 2, which will take place on March 7th.

As a Big Five country, Spain is already qualified for the Grand Final on May 14th.

Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest

Spain debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 and has competed annually since. Spain has won the contest on two occasions the first being in 1968 and the second time in 1969. 1969 is the only year where more than one song has won the contest. The 1969 contest saw a four-way tie between Spain, France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Since 2000 Spain has only managed to finish in the top 10 on five occasions, the last time being in 2014 with Ruth Lorenzo. However, the country has finished 20th or below on ten occasions, the worst placement being 26th in 2017.
