2.9 million people tuned in to watch the third heat of Melodifestivalen 2022 on SVT 1.
During the third heat of Sweden’s Eurovision selection show, 2,940,000 people tuned in on SVT 1, and a further 273,778 people watched on SVT Play, the broadcaster’s online streaming platform. The show received a share of 75.1%, and recorded 556,791 votes via the app and telephone.
The results of the heat were as follows:
- Cazzi Opeia – I Can’t Get Enough – Qualified to the semi-final
- Lancelot – Lyckligt Slut
- Lisa Miskovsky – Best To Come – Qualified to the semi-final
- Tribe Friday – Shut Me Up
- Faith Kakembo – Freedom – Direct to the Final
- Linda Bengtzing – Fyrfaldigt Hurra!
- Anders Bagge – Bigger Than The Universe – Direct to the Final
The dates of the remaining Melodifestivalen shows are as follows:
- Heat 4: Friends Arena (February 26)
- Semi-Final: Friends Arena (March 5)
- Final: Friends Arena (March 12)
The winner of the Final on March 12 will go on to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy.

Sweden debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958 and has gone on to be one of the contest’s most successful countries. The country has won the contest six times, the most recent being in 2015. Sweden’s first victory came in 1974 when ABBA won the contest in Brighton with “Waterloo”. Since missing out on the final in 2010, Sweden has gone on to finish 3rd twice and has won the contest twice, only in 2013 did the country place outside of the top 10 in the final.
