HRT, the Croatian national broadcaster, has revealed the voting procedure and Covid-19 measures for Dora 2022.
The results of Dora 2022 will be decided by a combination of regional jury voting (50%) and public voting (50%). In case of a tie, the song which got more points from the public vote will be declared the winner.
A total of ten regional juries will vote in Dora 2022. These regional juries are:
- Zagreb
- Čakovec and Varaždin
- Rijeka
- Pula
- Osijek
- Zadar
- Knin and Šibenik
- Split
- Dubrovnik
- Vukovar
Each jury will consist of three members; one HRT employee (HR music editor or music journalist), one member of the Croatian Composers’ Association and one member of the Croatian Music Union . Each member will rank the songs from 1st to 14th place during the dress rehearsal on February 18. After the sum of the results of individual members of the jury, the ten highest ranked songs will be awarded points (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 12). Every jury will give 58 points and the total number of jury votes is 580.
The public has two ways to vote:
- via phone calls – Viewers call 065 22 44 and add the number of their favourite song. Calls cost 1.50 kuna (fixed line) and 2.40 kuna (mobile)
- via SMS – viewers send an SMS to 60006 with “Dora” plus the number of their favourite song. Messages cost 2.40 kuna.
Viewers can vote up to 10 times from the same number and the voting window will last 10 minutes. The total number of points that the public will award is 580 points. The public voting points will be awarded according to the percentage of votes each song received (eg. if a song gets 10% of the votes, it will receive 58 points).
HRT also has Covid-19 measures in place in case one of the artists tests positive for the virus. In case one or two acts withdraw by February 4, their place is taken by the first second, third and fourth reserve. In case five or more performers withdraw after February 1, their song will be withdrawn and the phone number for their song will become inactive.
In the event that one of the artists develops symptoms or tests positive for Covid-19 after the dress rehearsal on February 16 , at the general rehearsal on February 18 or at the live show on February 19, a recording of the artist’s dress rehearsal performance will be shown during the live final instead.

The final of Dora 2022 is set to take place in Opatija on February 19 and will be hosted by Duško Ćurlić, Elizabeta Brodić and Franka Batelić. The winner will go on to represent Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy.

Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest
Croatia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993, they were one of three countries to debut in the contest that year. Croatia’s best result came in 1999 when Doris Dragović finished 4th in Jerusalem. She performed the song “Marija Magdalena” which scored a total of 118 points, this included 12 points from Slovenia and Spain. Croatia returned to the contest in 2016 having withdrawn after the 2013 contest due to a string of poor results and financial difficulties.
