Twenty-seven artists have been shortlisted for Ukraine’s Eurovision 2022 selection show.
From the 284 submissions received for the Ukrainian national final Vidbir 2022, Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC has revealed the 27 artists who have been shortlisted. From these 27, they will be whittled down to just 8 finalists. The finalists and the running order draw for the final will be announced and held next week.
The twenty-seven shortlisted artists are:

Yaroslav Lodygin, a member of the Managing Board of UA:PBC, has said:
“Because of the pandemic, the National Selection has not been held since 2020. Over this time, Ukrainian musicians have obviously accumulated energy and materials, so the number of good applications was very big! Still, there have not been many arguments among the organizing committee members up to this point, and the longlist was formed quite quickly. The fight is for the 8 positions in the final, so the hottest arguments are ahead!”
The final of Vidbir 2022 will take place on February 12th. The winner will go on to represent Ukraine at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy.
Go_A finished 5th in the Grand Final of Eurovision 2021 scoring a total of 364 points. “Shum” has gone viral globally and became the first-ever Ukrainian song to enter the Billboard charts. Ukraine was the public’s second favorite with 267 points.

Ukraine first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003, when Oleksandr Ponomariov performed “Hasta la vista”. The following year Ruslana brought the country their first win with the song “Wild Dances”. It was a feat that would be replicated in 2016 by Jamala with her song “1944”; her emotionally charged song scored a record 534 points to take victory in Stockholm. In 2017 O.Torvald represented the country on home soil with the song “Time”. The group finished in 24th place, Ukraine’s worst result at the contest to date.
