Macedonian singer and songwriter Vasil Garvanliev reveals all about the creation of Bulgaria’s 2021 Junior Eurovision entry.
Vasil Garvanliev, one of the songwriters behind Bulgaria’s 2021 Junior Eurovision song “Voice of Love”, has talked to Monitor.bg about the songwriting process. Vasil, who represented North Macedonia at the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year, mentioned that the songwriting process began at a songwriting camp:
“The moment we arrived in Primorsko, for the songwriting camp this summer, I was informed that there is interest and an intensive search for a song to represent Bulgaria at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
I remember sitting by the sea humming a phrase, “I am the voice of love.” I sang it over and over again … as if it came from the sea itself.”
He went on to discuss the message of the song:
“Reflecting on the last two years and my personal experiences during that time, I realized and proved to myself that love always wins.ย If you are brave enough to be honest and live your own truth … no one – absolutely no one – can touch you.ย In addition to this message … what could be better than children giving love and singing about it.ย This is the greatest gift.ย Double victory.”
Vasil also gave some wise words of advice to Denislava and Marti, the voices behind “Voice of Love”:
“Enjoy the experience and feel every moment of it.ย It will fly away in a second.ย The experience is really one that happens once in a lifetime.ย And I will be by their side to help them, give them guidance and support them.ย They will both make us proud!”
Denislava and Martin will perform 6th in the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with โVoice of Loveโ.
Who are Denislava and Martin?
Twelve-year-old Denislava and thirteen-year-old Martin are both from Dobrich, Bulgaria, and have been performing together for over 4 years. While both have been singing since they were five years old, Denislava splits her time between her pets and her friends, while Martin is a self-confessed bookworm. Both singers have performed in numerous concerts and festivals over the years.
