Ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest set to take place this weekend, we talked to Elisabetta Lizza from Italy.
Elisabetta discusses how she began singing and her idols, as well as her reaction to representing Italy on an international stage. Watch the full interview below:

Who is Elisabetta Lizza?
Elisabetta comes from Ardo in the province of Brescia in northern Italy. For the last three years, she has been performing in musicals and entering local competitions. Apart from singing, she also enjoys dancing, playing the piano and eating Italian food with her friends and family. Her favourite artists are Sam Smith, Bruno Mars and the reigning Eurovision champions Måneskin.

Italy debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2014. Their first and only win to date was on their debut, when Vincenzo Cantiello came in 1st place with 159 points with his song “Tu Primo Grande Amore”. Their worst result was in 2015 when twins Chiara & Martina came 16th with 34 points with their song “Viva”. Since their debut, Italy have participated in every contest except for 2020.
