Is Maan being considered to represent The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022?
In an interview with Telegraaf, Eurovision hopeful Dries Roelvink claims that Maan is a “serious candidate” to represent her country at next year’s contest:
“I’ve heard in the corridors that Maan is a serious candidate. Well, if it were her, then I’m at peace with it. A beautiful young singer”.
Dutch singer and winner of the Voice of Holland 2015, Maan, was originally rumoured to represent her country at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. However, she dismissed the rumours, stating that it was too early in her career. Since then, she has gone on to progress her successful music and TV career and has worked with Anouk in the studio.
Davina Michelle has also been rumoured to represent the country in the past and was featured in the 2021 contest as an interval act in the first semi-final. However, she has quickly dismissed any rumours about her participation in the 2022 contest.
Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS hasn’t made any comment on the rumour, and have not yet stated how they will select their next entry for the contest.
