MRT has confirmed to Eurovoix that they will be participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Paris, France.
North Macedonia is returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest having taken 1 year out due to COVID-19. MRT confirmed to Eurovoix that they will be participating in the contest this December in Paris, France. Details regarding the selection process have yet to be revealed.
MRT was one of a number of broadcasters that withdrew from the contest in 2020 due to COVID-19. They join TG4 of Ireland and RTP from Portugal in returning to the contest in 2021.
Junior Eurovision 2021
Paris will host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on December 19 in La Seine Musicale. The following countries have confirmed their participation so far:
- France
- Georgia
- Germany
- Ireland
- Netherlands
- North Macedonia
- Poland
- Portugal – Simão Oliveira
- Russia
- Ukraine

North Macedonia was one of sixteen countries to take part in the first edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003. On their debut they were represented by Marija & Viktorija with the song “Ti ne me poznavaš” finishing 12th with 19 points. North Macedonia’s best result to date is 5th place, which they achieved in 2007 with “Ding Ding Dong” by Rosica & Dimitar and in 2008 with “Prati mi SMS” by Bobi Andonov.
