Tonight the first semi-final of the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest will take place live from Rotterdam Ahoy in The Netherlands.

Sixteen nations take to the stage tonight in Rotterdam, all hoping to make it through to the Grand Final on Saturday night.

Running Order

Sixteen nations are competing in Semi-Final One, the running order is as follows:

Tonight’s show will feature an interval act titled “The Power of Water”, which will be performed by Davina Michelle and Thekla Reuten.

Voting

50% of the vote has already been decided heading into the show tonight. Last night saw the juries from each of the competing nations plus Germany, Italy, and The Netherlands vote. Viewers in all seventeen competing nations, plus the three previously named countries will all be able to vote as well.

Only ten of the sixteen countries will qualify for the Grand Final. These ten nations will be revealed in a random order. The exact placing of the songs will not be revealed until after the Grand Final.

Tonight’s show features three artists who have all had previous involvement in the contest. Belgium’s Alex Callier co-wrote their 2018 entry “A Matter Of Time”, North Macedonia’s Vasil was one of the backing singers for Tamara Todevska in 2019, and Malta’s Destiny was a backing singer for Michela Pace (2019), as well as winning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2015.

Three of tonight’s songs are performed fully or partially in another language. Four songs also feature phrases in other languages. The languages you’ll hear tonight are:
