TIX has released a new song “Engel, ikke dra” that is dedicated to a fan who sadly passed away due to cancer.
TIX’s new song “Engel, ikke dra” which translates to “Angel, do not go” is dedicated to one of his fans, Aurora Buerskog (1998–2019). She passed away due to cancer in 2019 and was just 20 years old. One of Aurora last wishes was for TIX to come to her funeral, a wish which the singer fulfilled. After attending the funeral, TIX began to work on the song, however, all the emotion from the event meant the process took over two years. A few weeks ago the singer performed the song the close family members and friends.
The revenue generated from the song will go to the charity group called Wish Transport, which helped Aurora fulfil her dream of going to the Easter mountains at Haukeliseter.
TIX will represent Norway at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Fallen Angel”, the singer’s first English language single. TIX won the right to represent Norway by winning this year’s Melodi Grand Prix. He is due to sing in the first semi-final, to be held on the 18th of May.
Who is Tix?
TIX (Andreas Haukeland) was born on 12th April 1993 in Bærum, Norway. His stage name “TIX” (“ticks”) is a nod to his diagnosed Tourettes syndrome. The singer is an advocate for mental health openness and has shared his thoughts and experiences in the past.

Norway debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 and have won the contest three times – in 1985, 1995 and 2009. The country has the dubious record of finishing last the most times, eleven in total, and have received nul points four times. Norway last won the contest in 2009 when Alexander Rybak broke all records with his song “Fairytale”. He scored 387 points in the final, receiving 16 sets of 12 points and scoring points from every country.
