TIX has revealed the four dancers and one backing singer that will be joining him for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
TIX is being joined by four dancers; Eivind Dundas, John Masaki, Reno Andersen and Bjørn Reime. He is also set to be accompanied behind the scenes by backing singer Johannes W. Farstad. The Norwegian delegation had their final rehearsal before travelling to Rotterdam on Friday last week.
The exact look of the Norwegian performance has not yet been revealed, what is clear is that the four-winged demons will be on stage with TIX. The singer previously commented that the delegation would be making “noticeable changes” to his performance for the Eurovision Son Contest. TIX previously confirmed he will be wearing an “upgraded” outfit for the contest.
Who is Tix
TIX (Andreas Haukeland) was born on 12th April 1993 in Bærum, Norway. His stage name “TIX” (“ticks”) is a nod to his diagnosed Tourettes syndrome. The singer is an advocate for mental health openness and has shared his thoughts and experiences in the past.
He began his professional music career in 2016, where his debut studio album Dømt og berømt reached number 2 in the Norwegian Albums Charts. Since then, he’s gone on to release numerous singles, including “Jeg vil ikke leve”, “Kaller på deg”, and “Karantene”, all of which reached #1 in the Norwegian charts. He also co-wrote the hit “Sweet but Psycho” by Ava Max. As of 2021 TIX’s has had five number one hits singles in the Norwegian charts.
In 2021 TIX’s won Melodi Grand Prix and so won the right to represent Norway at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Fallen Angel”.
Norway debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 and have won the contest three times – in 1985, 1995 and 2009. The country has the dubious record of finishing last the most times, eleven in total, and have received nul points four times. Norway last won the contest in 2009 when Alexander Rybak broke all records with his song “Fairytale”. He scored 387 points in the final, receiving 16 sets of 12 points and scoring points from every country.
