Greece has for the first time this season entered the top ten of the betting odds to win the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
Following reports of a spectacular performance from Greece at next months contest, Greece has now entered the top ten of the betting odds. According to Eurovision World, Stefania now has a 3% chance to taking victory in the Grand Final in Rotterdam and pushed San Marino down into 11th place.
The current top ten in the betting odds to win Eurovision 2021 are:
- Malta – Destiny – Je Me Casse – 17%
- France – Barbara Pravi – Viola – 14%
- Switzerland – Gjon’s Tears – Tout l’univers – 12%
- Italy – Måneskin – Zitti e buoni – 7%
- Bulgaria – Victoria – Growing Up is Getting Old – 7%
- Sweden – Tusse – Voices – 5%
- Iceland – Daði og Gagnamagnið – 10 Years – 4%
- Lithuania – The Roop – Discoteque – 4%
- Norway – TIX – Fallen Angel – 3%
- Greece – Stefania – Last Dance
This week has also seen Greece enter the top ten of the odds for the nation finishing within the top ten with a 41% chance according to the latest figures. And they currently sit with a 10% chance of a top three finish.
Greece’s performance of “Last Dance” will feature “something impressive if successful”, states De Telegraaf.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf has revealed that Greece’s performance in the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest will feature “something never seen” at the contest. Reports state that there are “several risks” to the performance, but if they succeed it “will be something impressive”.
Some rumours state that the performance could feature elements related to Greek mythology, as Pegasus features in the music video, but nothing has been confirmed. The Greek delegation is currently continuing to carry out technical tests for the performance.
Greece will be represented by Stefania, who will sing her song “Last Dance”.
Who is Stefania?
Stefania Liberakakis was born on December 17th 2002 in Utrecht, the Netherlands to Greek parents. She started singing at the age of 8. She made her first television appearance in 2013 when she took part in the third series of The Voice Kids. She was eliminated in the Battle Rounds. After her appearance on The Voice Kids, she joined the childrens’ choir Kinderen voor Kinderen and remained a member for two years.
Last year, she was internally selected to represent Greece at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. She was due to sing “Superg!rl” before the contest was cancelled.

Greece debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 when they were represented by Marinella and the song “Krasi, thalassa kai t’agori mou” which finished in 11th place with 7 points. Three years later Greece earned their first top 5 finish with Paschalis, Marianna, Robert, and Bessy who finished in 5th place with “Mathima solfege”. In 2001 Greece achieved their first top 3 result with Antique and the song “I Would Die For You”. The song became a European hit and charted across the continent. In 2005 Helena Paparizou returned to the Eurovision stage as a solo artist and brought Greece their first, and to date only, victory. Her song “My Number One” won with 230 points, beating runners-up Malta by 38 points.
